Joseph M. Maas, CFA, AVA, CFP®, ChFC, CLU®, MSFS, CCIM, has over 19 years of experience serving the financial needs of private wealth clients, businesses and trusts. Joe's expertise leads the Synergetic Finance Company's Financial Management, Business Valuation and Consulting, and Mergers and Acquisitions processes along with the firm's core financial foundation strategies. Because of his broad spectrum of expertise and his ability to manage these integrated financial services companies, Synergetic Finance and its clients benefit greatly from Joe's experience and efforts.
Before founding The Synergetic Finance Companies, Joe founded and operated a securities broker/dealer and an insurance company. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance, a Master of Science in Financial Services, and has studied finance abroad in Japan, Hong Kong, China and Thailand. To complement his studies, Joe has earned the professional designations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA),
Accredited Valuation Analyst (AVA), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Certified Wealth Protection Planner (CWPP), and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®).
Additionally, Joe is a current expert in his field by serving as a member of the CFA Institute, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, the CCIM Institute, the Seattle Estate Planning Council, The Asset Protection Society, The Wealth Preservation Institute, The Society of Financial Services Professional's Estate Planning Section and their Business and Compensation Section. Joe is also a member of the Financial Planning Association, The American Finance Association, The Rental Housing Association of Puget Sound, The Northwest Multiple Listing Service, The Commercial Brokers Association and has participated as a guest lecturer for the Elder Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association.
In his personal time, Joe enjoys traveling with his wife, hunting, fishing, and serving local charities.

John Angelo Flavin, ChFC®, CFP®, CCIM, is a senior relationship manager with Synergy Financial Management. In this role, John coordinates the efforts of Synergy's other team members in executing the financial planning and investment process. Because of his excellent attention to detail, every client's financial plan is assured of successful implementation.
John graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College where he earned both academic and athletic scholarships. After completing a postgraduate program in Baltimore, Maryland, John moved to Seattle and began his career in the financial services arena. In 1997 he was awarded the Cascade Association of Life Underwriters outstanding achievement award for his work in the financial services market. He was also presented with the inaugural Millennium award for 2000 as the fsic Broker of the Year for Outstanding Achievement. John is currently enrolled as a candidate in the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) program.
In addition, John is very active in his local community. He is the Chairman of the Finance Council for St. Therese Parish in Madrona and volunteers with various high school programs. John is also very active in the international community. He and his family have established health centers and built homes for the poor in Nicaragua since 1989.

Connie L. Peterson is Synergy Financial Management's office manager and communications backbone. Connie is responsible for supporting the team by acting as a liaison between team members, other professionals, vendors, and clients. Further, she is responsible for coordinating and disseminating reports, research, and other information to all interested parties. It is her smiling voice you often hear when calling our offices.
Connie has 25 years of experience in client service, which allows her to excel at getting the job done. Further, her experience has provided her with extensive knowledge of several major financial institution's back office systems and has given her the ability to diagnose bottlenecks and solve issues quickly. The Synergy Financial Management planning team and its clients greatly benefit from Connie's operational experience and efforts.

Brett M. Davis, CFP® is a financial planning and investment analyst for Synergy Financial Management, LLC where he supports the company's market and economic positions as well as the firm's financial planning process. Brett received his Bachelors of Arts from Central Washington University and is currently enrolled as a candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) program. The Synergy Companies and their clients benefit from Brett's dedication and overall enthusiasm to putting our client's needs first.

Rachele S. Cawaring, CFP®, is a business consultant for Synergy Business Valuation and Consulting, LLC and a senior relationship manager for Synergy Financial Management, LLC where she serves both private clients and organizations. For businesses and non-profits, she provides consulting to create Exit Planning Strategies and comprehensive strategic planning which uses cash flow and net worth analysis to help her clients coordinate decisions in their financial lives. For private clients, Rachele focuses on creating Investment Policy Statements, investment policy and procedures, interviewing and monitoring investment managers and providing education to their board members.
She has been providing financial advice to private clients since 1997. She has worked in large national firms, such as Merrill Lynch and Charles Schwab, and also regionally at Merriman Capital Management. She provided investment advice at each of these firms. Also, at Charles Schwab, she acted as the Regional Financial Planner for the Northwest, and was one of 12 regional planners for the country. At Synergy, its clients greatly benefit from Rachele extensive range of expertise in finance planning and business development.
Her specialty and passion is taking a big picture look at her clients’ financial situation and helping them develop a strategy to reach their goals.
Rachele is also very active in her community as a board member for the Seattle Economic Development Fund and member of the Bellevue Rotary.
