Joseph M. Maas, CFA, AVA, CM&AA, CFP®, ChFC, CLU®, MSFS, CCIM, CWPP, has over 19 years of experience serving the financial needs of private wealth clients, businesses, and trusts. Joe's expertise leads the Synergetic Finance Company's Financial Management, Business Valuation and Consulting, and Mergers and Acquisitions processes along with the firm's core financial foundation strategies. Because of his broad spectrum of expertise and his ability to manage these integrated financial services companies, Synergetic Finance and its clients benefit greatly from Joe's experience and efforts.
Before founding The Synergetic Finance Companies, Joe founded and operated a securities broker/dealer and an insurance company. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance, Master of Science in Financial Services, and has studied finance abroad in Japan, Hong Kong, China and Thailand. To complement his studies, Joe has earned the professional designations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Certified Wealth Protection Planner (CWPP), and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®).
Additionally, Joe is a current expert in his field by serving as a member of the CFA Institute, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, the CCIM Institute, the Seattle Estate Planning Council, The Asset Protection Society, The Wealth Preservation Institute, The Society of Financial Services Professional's Estate Planning Section and their Business and Compensation Section. Joe is also a member of the Financial Planning Association, The American Finance Association, The Rental Housing Association of Puget Sound, The Northwest Multiple Listing Service, The Commercial Brokers Association and has participated as a guest lecturer for the Elder Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association.
In his personal time, Joe enjoys traveling with his wife, hunting, fishing, and serving local charities.

Mark Girouard, MBA, is a business valuation and merger and acquisitions consultant for the Synergetic Finance companies. For Synergy Business Valuation + Consulting, LLC, Mark specializes in all aspects of the valuations process. For Synergy Mergers + Acquisitions, LLC, he assists clients with marketing, business analysis, user decision analysis, and transaction management.
Mark has an MBA in Finance from Boston College and a BA in International Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With over ten years of global experience in Corporate Finance, Corporate Development, and Investment Management, Mark has worked on a variety of valuation assignments, M&A deals, divestitures, dispositions, and strategic plans. Moreover, Mark's career as a Financial Manager has provided him with an expansive set of skills that range from Treasury operations at Pier 1 Imports to global real estate strategy for Verde Realty, a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT).
Synergetic Finance and their clients benefit greatly from Mark's ability to systematically streamline the valuation process, to structure transactions, to support the acquisition integration, and his expertise aligning business initiatives, financial data, and optimizing financial models.

Deniz Kiral, CPA, MSF, MA, is a business valuation analyst for Synergy Business Valuation and Consulting, LLC. Deniz specializes in corporate, tax and estate valuation and transfer pricing. Before joining Synergy's consulting team, Deniz has worked in the valuation and consulting areas for multinational companies in "Big-4" accounting firms such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young and Arthur Anderson. He has also valued small businesses in consulting firms and for angel investors. Deniz has performed valuations in the manufacturing, hi-tech, biotech and industries, as well as valuation for estate tax planning.
Deniz is a member of Keiretsu Forum in which he provides valuation and due dilligence for startup ventures. Deniz has a Masters of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Masters in of accountancy from Miami University in Oxford Ohio and an undergraduate in accounting from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Deniz is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Washington and a member of the AICPA. |

Norman H. Roberts, CPA, MBA, MST, is a business valuation analyst for Synergy Business Valuation and Consulting, LLC. Norm is Synergy's senior litigation specialist focusing in the estate, trust, gift tax, and family law areas. Norm enjoys problem solving, mastering the detail in complex situations, and being an advocate for the client when appropriate as well as providing his expert opinion.
Norm received both his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Washington. He also received a Masters degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University. Norm has been a CPA since 1987. After a brief stint as a research economist, Norm served in the construction industry as a business manager and in sales until 1982.

Shannon Flavin, CPA, MBA, is both a business valuation analyst and business consultant for Synergy Business Valuation and Consulting, LLC. Shannon's robust and expansive expertise in tax and finance are great assets for both Synergy and its clients.
Shannon received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Boston College, and a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Seattle University. She began her career at Deloitte & Touche LLP in Denver where she worked as a Senior Auditor directing audit engagements in a variety of industries including financial services, health care, insurance, agriculture, and manufacturing. Subsequently, Shannon worked as an Internal Audit Manager for Verizon Wireless where she led evaluations of operational, financial, and system controls and reported issues to senior management. She provided business advisory services to reengineer processes, tightened internal controls, reduced costs, and aligned processes with strategic business objectives. On a volunteer basis, Shannon is the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for Somos Amigos, a non-profit organization that provides access to educational resources, health care and other aid for impoverished people in Nicaragua and elsewhere.

Umit Gokce is a creative media consultant for Synergy Business Valuation and Consulting LLC. Umit's broad spectrum of expertise serves Synergy clients in the areas of Strategic Marketing, Brand Management, Web Design, Web Development, Video Production, Photography and Search Engine Optimization.
Having started-up six businesses on three continents and completed over 90 interactive media projects since 1990, Umit is positioned as a highly experienced digital media entrepreneur whose first-hand knowledge allows him to relate to the challenges facing today's business entrepreneur.
Prior to and concurrent with Umit's association with Synergy, he has founded and operates award-winning interactive media and eLearning businesses including UBG Digital Media LLC and MedModule Inc. He served from 1993 to 1999 as Executive Vice President/Co-Founder of UBG International Inc, a 100-person distributor of mobile, cellular and satellite equipment operating in Europe and the Middle-East. Prior to that, Umit was President of UBG Communications, an early pioneer of interactive multimedia focused on the tour and travel industry in Chicago and Tokyo.
Umit has been on the advisory board of the University of Washington's Business School since 2001, regularly serving as a judge and team mentor in international business case competitions. He was Board Chairman of the Seattle-based Around-n-Over educational foundation and human-powered global expedition. Since 2005, Umit has been involved in the development and operation of volunteer-based community sports programs as Founder/Executive Director of the Highlands Youth Soccer Club in Issaquah, Washington. He previously served as Executive Director of XYZ & You, a 4,000+ member computer graphics user group based in the Pacific Northwest.
Preventive health and fitness are areas of particular passion for Umit who is developing wellness programs for his new venture, 360 In Balance. Umit is of Turkish and Japanese descent and is conversant in four languages. |

Andrew Simmons, MBA, is a business consultant for Synergy Business Valuation and Consulting, LLC. Andrew's expertise spans areas in finance, hospitality management, new business opportunities, risk assessments and operations. Synergy and its clients benefit from Andrew's extensive range of expertise in finance and resource optimization as well as his capacity to combine entrepreneurial excellence, business development and valuation analysis.
Andrew received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Whitman College, his Culinary Arts Degree from The Culinary Institute of America, and a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Washington. Prior to joining Synergy's team, Andrew worked internationally as an award-winning executive chef and operations manager, overseeing restaurant openings and managing operations in 5 star restaurants under world-renowned chefs. Additionally he has provided business advisory services to local restaurateurs, helping them create and maintain tightened internal controls, reduce costs, and align processes with strategic business objectives. Andrew is adept in bringing upscale concepts to customers while firmly controlling costs. |

Anthony (Tony) J. Robins, MD, is a biotechnology and medical consultant for Synergy Business Valuation and Consulting, LLC. Tony works closely with doctors, corporations, medical institutions and government agencies. Synergy and its clients benefit from Dr. Robin's broad spectrum of expertise and hisability to combine entrepreneurial excellence, medicine, biomedical research and development, business development, finance, practice management and valuation analysis. Tony maintains strong relationships with industry leading companies which help him maintain his position as a leader and innovator in basic science, product design and use, regulatory compliance, clinical practice and sales and marketing. Throughout his career, Tony has been involved in several businesses, including acting as afounding member in three start-up companies.
Tony enjoyed a successful orthopedic joint replacement surgery practice until 2004 when he devoted full efforts to business development in the medical and biotech spaces.
Tony has been instrumental in the formation, business development and funding of several companies, including Sound Health Solutions, MedModule, Targeted Growth, and Overlake Surgery Center. He was the Chief Medical Officer for an anti-infective drug development with Exoxemis, Inc. He developed a knee arthritis device for Light Sciences Oncology, Inc. and is currently involved in the development of a new knee implant for arthritis for Moximed, Inc.
Tony is a summa cum laude graduate in psychology from Creighton University with undergraduate studies in Physics at Columbia University. He's a High Honors graduate of the University of Washington School of Medicine where he graduated number one in his class of 175. He completed residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Utah and a fellowship in arthritis and joint replacement at the University of California at San Diego. Tony is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and served four years as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue, WA.
Tony married his classmate, Frances M. Gough, MD, and they began their family while completing residencies respectively in orthopedic surgery and internal medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. The family then moved to Bellevue, where they now reside.
Originally from western Montana, Tony is an avid fly-fisherman and outdoorsman and an owner of Red's Fly Shop and Canyon River Ranch on the Yakima River. |

Chun Ni Huang is a senior bookkeeper and payroll consultant for Synergy Business Valuation and Consulting, LLC. Chun Ni works closely with Synergy's clients to optimize their Income and expense reporting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Monthly and Quarterly Payroll and Business & Operation taxes reporting, bank account reconciliation,W-2 and 1099 reporting, and to help prepare Quarterly and Yearly Financial Statements. She is a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and is active in maintaining her expertise in small business tax matters.
Prior to joining Synergy's team, Chun Ni worked as an independent bookkeeper for various small businesses, for Broom & Perry CPA, and for the University of Washington as an Accounting/Fiscal Specialist.
Chun Ni and her family live in Lynnwood. In her spare time, she enjoys taking cruises and traveling to China which allows her to maintain her fluent Chinese.
